La Sede

The Venue

The present Museum venue was opened in 1997, housed in a historic 1920s building located in the centre of the old town and where the machinery used by the nearby Cooperative Wineries of Campogalliano was installed. The building was renovated while staying true to its characteristic features, maintaining and enhancing its structure and architectural details.

Museological Setting

The museological project has allowed for the organization of practical spaces focusing on a number of key themes to tell the history of scales and measurements, balancing proposals and orientations, ranging from areas of discovery, exhibitions and a special area for teaching activities. A fundamental characteristic is the rotation of the exhibits, which brings a continuous renewal to entire sections of the exhibition area.

Side Rooms

These areas constitute an integral part of the exhibition space, designed to host temporary shows and activities. Dotted throughout the Museum, they help to give the Museum its ever changing appearance.

Multipurpose Room

In the multipurpose room, films are usually shown and activities connected to the exhibitions are hosted, but it may also be booked for meetings, presentations or small receptions.

The room, located on the ground floor, can be equipped with a table for four speakers, with 35 seats, a wall projector, audio-visual equipment and personal computers.
