The Scale Museum offers a exceptional opportunity to link museums and their territory.

Every first Sunday of the month you can enjoy free admission all day and a special guided tour, different every month.
Each time, it will be possible to learn more about part of the collections or current exhibitions, with a focus on the history and functioning of some of the measuring instruments exhibited. A truly original way to enter the history of measurement and more generally that of science and technology.

7 August THE ROMANS AND THE TRADE SCALE  

The steelyard and how it works, the oldest artefact in the museum, knives to improve accuracy, double capacity and composed steelyard.

4 September THE VERIFICATION IN ITALY  

Fraud, controls, punches, the figure of the verifier. Modena Office of the Bona Opinione, the Unification of Italy  and the verifier. Measures exhibited in Piazza Grande in Modena. 

2 October UNDER THE SIGN OF THE BALANCE
 
From astrology to the mythological characters who used the scales as a symbol for transmitting values, to the modern representation of this symbol and instrument.
 
6 November BUTCHER'S SCALES
 
We take a cue from Carracci's painting to discover the scales used in this trade. The practice of weighing animals, overhead scales and our culinary traditions.
 
4 December A BALANCE FOR THE ROYAL HOUSE
 
The Crotti family supplier to the Royal House of Savoy, twists with the history of Campogalliano.
